MISPLACED APOSTROPHES
This is my ode to the humble apostrophe! I thought it might encourage pupils to take more notice when they are out and about and perhaps to report back on all those misplaced apostrophes they are almost certainly going to find. I hope that it will be of use to someone in the community.
DAVID COPPERFIELD
This file contains one criss-cross puzzle and one wordsearch, both using characters who appear in Charles Dickens’ work “David Copperfield”. In the criss-cross puzzle the student will be asked to name the characters from the clues provided, and then enter these into the matching squares in the numbered grid. In the wordsearch puzzle the student has to find in the grid all the characters listed. For both puzzles, there is a printable sheet for the student and a solution sheet for the teacher. I have included two versions, one in PDF and the second an Excel file, whichever is your preference.
CRACK THE CODE - SHAKESPEARE QUOTES
This file contains ten well-known quotes from Shakespeare written in code. Taking into consideration the two-letter clues already given in each grid, use reasoning skills to establish the individual rulings used to complete all ten quotes.
